This will completely remove VirtualBox from your Fedora 40 (or other versions):

sudo dnf remove VirtualBox\*

Now you can reinstall the latest VirtualBox from the website: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads or with dnf (older version).
